Paralakhemundi: At least five people were critically injured after a car they were travelling in fell into a 15-foot deep gorge in Adaba area of Odisha’s Gajapati district on Tuesday.
Sources said the victims were returning to Jayapur Balisahi after a visit to Puri in the car when the driver apparently lost control over the wheels while negotiating a sharp turn at Kristhapur.
The vehicle skidded off the road and fell into the deep gorge, causing critical injuries to the five persons on board. The injured persons were rescued and sent to hospital for treatment.
On being informed, police personnel rushed to the site and rescued the injured. All the injured persons were first rushed to Mohana Community Health Centre (CHC). Three of them were later shifted to the MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur as their condition deteriorated.
