Puri: A day after arriving in Odisha, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Friday visited Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri and offered prayers to the sibling deities.
He then met Puri Shankaracharya Swami Nischalananda Saraswati at Gobardhan Peeth.
Bhagwat is in Puri to attend Pranta Seva Pramukh meeting over the weekend (August 10-11) and discuss various issues related to the organisation’s activities and its upcoming plans.
He will leave Puri on Monday.
On Thursday, Chief minister Mohan Charan Majhi and his two deputies K V Singhdeo and Pravati Parida met Bhagwat at Utkal Bipanna Sahayata Samiti (UBSS) office, where he spent the night.
The RSS has been working actively in Odisha for several years now and has established a strong network of ‘shakhas’ or branches across the state.
