Chittoor: At least six persons were killed in a road accident in Andhra Pradesh after the car they were traveling in caught fire due to an oil leak. The speeding car hit a divider after taking a sudden turn and caught fire, ANI reported.
The accident took place on Puthalapattu-Naidupeta road, near Chandragiri zone, Chittoor.
Chandragiri inspector BV Srinivas informed that of the eight people in the car, five died on the spot. Three persons were rushed to Ruia Hospital in Tirupati, of whom one more succumbed to injuries, the inspector added.
