Bhubaneswar: Five districts in Odisha turned COVID-free on Wednesday with the state reporting 16 new cases and 45 recoveries in the last 24 hours, taking the active cases tally to 232.
The district are Keonjhar, Nayagarh, Kalahandi, Koraput and Puri.
According to the I & PR Department, 10 new infections have been reported from quarantine and 6 local contacts. Among them, 4 are in the age group of 0-18 years.
Here are the district-wise figures of the new cases:
1. Balangir: 2
2. Jajpur: 2
3. Kendrapada: 1
4. Khurda: 6
5. Rayagada: 1
6. Sambalpur: 3
7. Sundargarh: 1
With these cases being detected from 18,407 samples, the test positivity rate stood at 0.08 per cent.
Notably, Odisha has been testing less than 20,000 samples for the last two days.
