Bhubaneswar: A five-foot long baby crocodile was captured from a pond at Mendhasal village here on Saturday.
The reptile was earlier spotted in a fish pond of a villager.
On receiving information regarding the incident, a team of Khurda Forest Division officials rushed to the spot and rescued the animal.
Some locals suspect that the crocodile might have strayed from a lake at Deras in search of food.
