Cuttack: Tension prevailed here on Sunday following a clash between the members of two puja committees during the immersion ceremony.
The incident occurred when the procession of Bampisahi puja committee was passing through Telenga Bazaar. They clashed following a heated argument between members of Bampisahi and Telenga Bazaar puja committees. Five people were injured in stone pelting from both sides.
Cuttack DCP Akhileswar Singh rushed to the spot along with police personnel and brought the situation under control.
According to reports, there was a dispute between the puja committees over lighting arrangements in their respective pandals.
