5 Injured In Explosion During Bomb Making In Bhubaneswar



Bhubaneswar: At least five people, including three women, were critically injured after a powerful explosion during bomb manufacturing in Sundarpada area of Bhubaneswar on Tuesday.

Sources said the took place at New Azad Nagar under the Airfield police station limits in Sundarpada. The blast took place allegedly due to carelessness while making bombs on the roof of a building illegally,

police sources said.

The injured were admitted to Capital Hospital in the city for treatment. Their condition was stated to be critical.

Following the incident, senior police officials including Bhubaneswar DCP Jagmohan Meena visited the site. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the illegal activity, focusing on identifying those involved in the manufacturing.

On being alerted by locals, fire services and police teams rushed to the scene, controlled the situation, rescued the injured, and shifted them to the hospital.

Expressing concern over the blast, local residents have demanded strict action against such activities. Police assured that a thorough probe is underway and stringent measures will be taken against those involved in illegal activities.
