5 More Patients Succumb To COVID, Daily Cases Drop Below 200 In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The daily COVID caseload in the capital city dropped below 200 with 159 new cases reported in the last 24 hours.

The city had seen 216 COVID cases on Saturday, 233 on Friday and 267 on Thursday.

According to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), 40 of the new patients on the day are from quarantine and 119 local contacts.

Of the local contacts, maximum 11 cases were reported from Patia, followed by 8 each from Jharpada and Unit VIII.

As many as 188 patients recovered from the disease while the number of deceased due to COVID stood at 1,033 with five more deaths reported during the period.

The active cases stood at 3,570 while total 1,14,626 people have been infected by the virus so far.
