Kyiv: Ukraine’s military claimed on Thursday that it had shot down five Russian planes and one helicopter in the country’s Luhansk region.
Russia earlier recognised Luhansk, one of the separatist regions of Ukraine, as independent.
In a counter claim, Russia’s Defense Ministry claimed that Ukraine’s air bases and military infrastructure have been neutralised, according to an IFX news agency report.
