Jharsuguda: Five persons sustained serious injuries as a power transmission tower collapsed and fell on them in Odisha’s Jharsuguda district on Friday.
As per reports, some daily workers were standing under the high-capacity transmission tower of JSW Ind-Barath Energy Company at Pipilikani under Banharpali police station in the district. As the massive tower suddenly collapsed, the workers could not move away from the spot.
Five of them were crushed under the massive tower sustaining serious injuries. The locals rushed them to TRL Krosaki Hospital in Belpahar. Later, they were shifted to VIMSAR at Burla as their condition deteriorated.
On being informed, police reached the spot and started investigation. All the injured workers belong to West Bengal and had come to Odisha in search of work, sources said.
