5-Year-Old ‘Gang-Raped’ By Two Minors In Jagatsinghpur

Jagatsinghpur: There seems to be on end to minor rape horror despite the Centre’s nod to death penalty for the accused. In another shocking incident, a five-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by two minor boys in Jagatsinghpur district.

The incident took place at Kantaballabhapur under Sadar police station limits on Wednesday and the accused are two boys aged 9 and 14 years.

Police have detained the duo basing on a complaint lodged by the survivor’s mother.

“Medical examination of the minor girl has been conducted. Necessary action will be taken after receiving the report,” Jagatsinghpur SDPO Sujogya Kumar Mishra informed.

According to reports, the two boys lured the little girl on the pretext of offering her soft drinks and took her to a nearby school, where she was gang-raped. The school was vacant due to the ongoing summer vacation.

On Tuesday, a similar incident was also reported from Sambalpur district where another five-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a minor boy (15-16-year-old) at Gosala village under Burla police limits.

The juvenile was detained basing on a complaint lodged by the girl’s family at Gosala outpost.
