Bargarh: Around 50 students fell ill with symptoms of food-poisoning after eating food prepared for the Mid-day Meal (MDM) at a government school in Odisha’s Bargarh dsitrict, reports said on Saturday.
The incident took place at the Brahmanadihi Project Upper Primary School located in Sohela area of the district on Friday afternoon.
According to sources, the students of the school were served rice, dal and soybean chunks for the MDM. Shortly after eating the food, several students complained of stomach pain, nausea and vomiting.
The sick students were rushed to the Community Health Centre (CHC) at Sohela, thy said, adding that the condition of some students was stated to be serious.
Four students have been kept under observation in the CHC while the rest were discharged after necessary treatment. The condition of the four students is stated to be stable now, they said.
