500 Acres Of Govt Land Encroached In Bhubaneswar: Odisha CM In Assembly



Bhubaneswar: Around 500 acres of government land have been encroached upon in areas under the jurisdiction of the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi informed the state A

ssembly on Monday.

Sharing this information while answering a question in the House, the Chief Minister stated that influential people have encroached patches of land in posh areas like Bapuji Nagar, Ashok Nagar, Ganga Nagar, Saheed Nagar, Surya Nagar, Bomikhal, Jharpada and Patia.

The government has initiated measures to address the issue and free the encroached land, Majhi said, adding that the state government has formed a committee to oversee the process of eviction and recovery. Steps have already been launched to free 70 acres of encroached land this year, with further action planned in the coming months.
