Bhubaneswar: Around 500 new traffic police posts in different categories will be created in different police districts across the state.
In a letter, Special Secretary, Home Department, Santosh Bala informed the Accountant Generals about the sanction of the governor to create these posts.
The new posts will be essentially for traffic management in various police districts, including that of Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Commissionerate Police, he further said.
Of the 500 vacancies, one will be for DSP with level 12 of pay matrix, 118 sub-inspectors with level 9, 72 havildars with level 7 and 309 constables with level 5.
The vacancies will be filled up in accordance with the recruitment guidelines of Odisha Reservations of Vacancies Act, the letter added.
