Bhubaneswar: As many as 52 dengue patients have been identified in the capital city in the last 24 hours.
With the day’s figure, the dengue tally in the city has gone up to 1,662. While 1,153 patients have recovered from the disease, there are 519 active cases at present, according to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC).
The city saw only 3 cases of dengue in January and two in February. Another 3 cases were added to the tally in March and 2 more in April. There were nil cases in May while two persons were found infected in June. The dengue infection count soared to 563 in July with the detection of 551 cases.
Meanwhile, the BMC stated that it has geared up cleanliness drive and promotion of awareness regarding the disease. It has collected dengue related data from 1,3,652 people of 23,901 houses in the city.
