Bhubaneswar: The daily COVID caseload dropped below 1000 in Odisha again on Friday as 986 people tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
Among them, 128 are in the age group of 0-18 years.
The state had seen 1041 new infections on Thursday and 993 on Wednesday.
According to the I & PR department, 574 of the new cases are from quarantine and 412 local contacts.
Khurda (373) and Cuttack (139) districts accounted for almost 52 per cent of the total new cases. Four districts — Bargarh, Gajapati, Malkangiri and Sonepur — reported only 1 case each.
With these cases being detected from 70,079 samples, the test positivity rate (TPR) stood at 1.40 per cent.

Besides, the state pool includes 85 positive cases.
