Bhubaneswar: As many as 53 students of 2018-20 batch of BIPF Sukinda ITI have been selected in a campus placement by engineering major L&T Ltd.
Of the selected students, 32 have been selected from Fitter and 21 from Electrician trade. They are undergoing 3-month on the job training programme with monthly stipend & free accommodation at L&T’s CSTI Training Centre at Balikuda, Gopalpur near Cuttack. After completion of the training, they will be placed at different project sites of the company.
Bansidhar Ila Panda Foundation (BIPF) Sukinda ITI’s students of 2017-19 batch, recruited earlier by L&T, are currently working with a monthly package of more than Rs 20,000.
Established in 2016 at Sukinda in Jajpur district, the ITI is a state-of-the art quality residential industrial training centre as part of “Partners in Development programme” between Indian Metals & Ferro Alloys Ltd (Imfa) and Odisha Government.
Its 119 students have enrolled in 3 trades for 2020-21 academic year. The occupancy percentage is 54% compared to 28% in Jajpur district and 44% in the state.
