Berhampur: The MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Odisha’s Berhampur city will have the facility of 54 more ICU beds soon.
The new ICU beds will be set up in the Superspecialty building of the hospital campus. The step has been taken after 4 PG doctors were appointed in Anaesthesia department of the medical college, said Prof Abanikant Mishra.
The new beds will include 20 from Medicine department. Since the building housing Medicine department will be repaired and renovated, its beds have been proposed to be shifted to the Superspecialty wing, he added.
The superintendent of the hospital and Medicine, Anaesthesia, Heart and Surgery departments have been instructed to take necessary arrangements for setting up the ICU beds in the Superspecialty building, Prof Mishra said.
