Bhubaneswar: A total of 54 platoons of police force will be deployed in Cuttack and 25 in Bhubaneswar to maintain law and order during Durga Puja festivities, informed twin cities Police Commissioner Y B Khurania on Saturday.
“Besides deployment of Quick Action Team (QAT) and Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF) teams at different locations of the twin cities, policemen in plain clothes will keep vigil at puja mandaps and other crowded areas,” he said.
Apart from that, restrictions will be enforced on movement of heavy vehicles in various parts of the state capital from September 26 to October 1 to streamline vehicular traffic during the festival, he added.
This year, as many as 172 medhas are being erected at different places in the city.
