Bhubaneswar: As many as 541 more people tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours taking the affected tally to 11273 in the city on Wednesday.
According to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), of the new cases, 220 were detected in quarantine centres and 321 were local contact cases while 300 patients have recovered from the disease.
The 220 quarantine cases include 23 staffers of a private hospital, 16 policemen and 9 from the Utkal University campus.
Among the local contacts include 11 bank staffers. Apart from this, 11 cases are from Patia, 10 from Sailashree Vihar and 11 from the Kela Basti slum in Bhimpur area.
On the other hand, 300 people have cured of the infection.
With 44 deaths and 6935 recoveries, Bhubaneswar now has 4282 active cases.
