Bhubaneswar: With the festival season approaching, the Bhubaneswar police is in no mood to take any chances with anti-socials.
As a part of the ongoing drive against miscreants, at least a dozen people were detained on Friday night by Commissionerate Police.
Various khats/addas were raided and vehicles parked in public places were seized. Apart from this, criminal activities are being investigated and and fines are being levied where necessary, a senior cop said.
On Friday evening, police staff from – Capital, Kharavel Nagar, Bharatpur, Laxmi Sagar, Badagada, Maitree Vihar, Nayapalli, Khandagiri, Chandrasekharpur, and Infocity police jointly raided different places.
“Total of 57 law-breakers were detained in different police stations, and Rs 28,500 was collected as fine under the Odisha Urban Police Act,” a senior cop stated.
