Bhubaneswar: Nabin Odisha and 5T chairman VK Pandian on Friday instructed officials engaged in construction of the Inter-State Bus Terminal (ISBT) at Baramunda in Bhubaneswar to complete the works by December-end.
During a visit to the site in the afternoon, Pandian reviewed the ongoing works of the project, which will be an important transit infrastructure in the city for not only Odisha but also other states. He enquired about the facilities in the facility including comfort of the commuters such as waiting space facilities, sanitation, bus space, Ahaar centre, illumination, toilets and others.
Pandian advised the agencies to adopt smart IT-driven infrastructure, develop creative ambiance for the travellers using local art and ensure arrangements of idle bus parking, dormitory for bus drivers, sufficient parking of auto rickshaw, taxi and two-wheelers for the visitors. He also asked them to involve all stakeholders like taxi association, bus owners’ association and OSRTC in the project.
BDA vice-chairman Balwant Singh, officials of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), BDA, construction partner agency Bridge and Roof Company (India) Limited were present during the visit.
The ISBT Baramunda project, being implemented by Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) in 15.5 acre of land, will have facilities for the convenience of the passengers, office spaces, parking, food court, restaurant, commercial spaces.
