Cuttack: Secretary to Odisha CM (5T) VK Pandian on Monday reviewed the ongoing development works at SCB Medical College & Hospital (SCB MCH) here, which is being transformed into an AIIMS Plus institution with world-class facilities.
Taking stock of progress of various works at SCB MCH, the 5T Secretary held discussions with the officers concerned and stressed on the timely completion of the project. “It’s our work”, he said while urging officers to extend help for prompt execution of the AIIMS-plus project.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had approved the redevelopment plan, which includes construction of new medical blocks, high rise residential apartments for doctors, staff and nurses and new hostel accommodation for students, on November 7, 2019. A new playground for SCBMCH has also been proposed.
Notably, the state government had set a target to complete a major part of the modernisation project by this year. The project is being implemented on 175 acre of land at a cost of Rs 3,500 crore and include a state-of-the art 3,000 bed integrated hospital.
