Bhubaneswar: Hours after a high drama that unfolded at a hotel in Patia area of Bhubaneswar on Wednesday, the Commissionerate Police arrested six persons, including the man who was accused of indulging in immoral activities by his wife.
The arrested persons have been identified as Abhinav Singh, Silu Nayak, Rakesh Behera, Anindita Nayak, Tanushree Das and Rupa Pan.
Acting on a complaint lodged by Utkala Deepika Rout, the Police conducted a raid at a hotel in Infocity area and caught her husband Abhinav Singh along with some Bengali women in a room. Rout had alleged in her complaint that her husband was spending nights with other women and shooting intimate moments, sources said.
Police said the complainant was married to Abhinav on November 30, 2022 at Bhubaneswar and after her marriage her husband started torturing her mentally and physically. Her husband also allegedly beat her several times under the influence of alcohol.
It was claimed that Abhinab threatened to divorce her and marry another girl. The complainant received information that her husband, Rakesh, Silu and three girls are present at a hotel in Patia area.
When the complainant reached the hotel with police personnel, Abhinav, Rakesh, Silu and three other girls abused her using obscene languages. The police personnel were also abused by them when they tried to save her from their clutches.
During investigation, these accused persons were arrested and forwarded to the Court. Further investigation is underway.
