Acting on reliable information about the betting, a team from Raghunathpalli police station conducted raid on a house in Civil Township in the city on Thursday. The police team managed to catch hold of 6 persons while they were trying to escape from the place.

The police have seized 20 mobile phones, 3 laptops, 4 ATM cards and other electronic gadgets from their possession. At least 8 bank accounts, which were run by the racketeers for betting, have been frozen.

“The accused persons were running the online betting racket through website rajveer.exch.com. They were luring the people with 5 to 10 times returns on the stakes. They were using the bank accounts for the illegal transaction,” said a police official.

The police arrested the six persons and forwarded them to court while further investigation into the case is going on.
