6 Die Of Snakebites In Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Six persons have died of snakebites in Angul, Ganjam and Keonjhar districts, according to a report on Monday.

In Angul district, two sisters, Rosalin Sahu (13) and Sujata Sahu (11), of Bentapur village were sleeping in their room last night when a snake bit them. Their family took them to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack, but they had died on the way.

In Ganjam district, a woman and her four-year-old child were bitten by a snake at B Nuapalli village in Kodala block. While the child died on way to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur, the mother died while undergoing treatment.

Besides, a youth also died of snakebite at Kabisuryanar in the district.

In Keonjhar district, a woman died of snakebite at Guruma village in Talapada panchayat in Telkoi block. The deceased was identified as Dhariti Patra.
