Malkangiri: Locals of Kalimela area in the tribal-dominated Malkangiri district rescued a six-feet-long crocodile from a pond on Monday.
Panic prevailed in the locality after a few villagers spotted the crocodile in the water body.
The locals managed to catch it using net. Later, they handed it over to the forest officials.
In a similar incident that had taken place six months ago, a huge crocodile was spotted in a pond at MV 78 village under Kalimela block in the district.
The crocodile was rescued by the villages after the forest personnel refused to get it out of the pond.
