6 Held For 2 Murders During Holi Revelry In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: A day after two persons were murdered in separate incidents amid Holi revelry in Bhubaneswar, the Commissionerate Police on Sunday arrested six people, including the prime accused, in connection with these killings.

Police said the prime accused and a minor have been held in connection with the Saheed Nagar murder case.

Bhubaneswar DCP Jagmohan Meena told reporters that the main accused, identified as Baba Guni, was apprehended from Pipili area. A minor boy has also been held in connection with the case.

The murder took place in Shantipalli slum of Saheed Nagar following a heated argument during Holi celebrations. There was no previous enmity between the deceased and the accused persons.

Similarly, four persons have been arrested for their alleged involvement in the Macheshwar murder case. The DCP said that four individuals, including Tanmay Behera, were arrested in connection with the case.

Investigation showed that the murder was not premeditated but took place suddenly in the spur of the moment.

Further investigation into both the incidents is in progress to ascertain whether some others were also involved in the murders, police added.
