Balasore: At least six people were critically injured when two SUVs carrying picnickers collided head-on near Benuda Chhak in Kamarda area of Odisha’s Balasore district on Wednesday.
As per preliminary information, the mishap took place near Benuda Chhak on State Highway 57 when both the vehicles were headed towards picnic destinations.
While one SUV was proceeding towards Digha in West Bengal carrying tourists from Mayurbhanj, another vehicle was coming from the opposite direction when the collision took place in the morning.
After getting information about the accident, Kamarda Police rushed to the spot and rescued the injured persons. They were immediately taken to the Jaleswar Sub-Divisional Hospital for treatment.
The police have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the accident.
