Puri: Six persons, including a Bhoi servitor, were injured after the rope of Taladhwaja chariot of Lord Balabhadra snapped near Market Chhak on Grand Road during the Bahuda Yatra of the sibling deities to Shree Jagannath Temple in Odisha’s Puri on Wednesday.
The Lords embarked on their homeward journey, after nine-day annual sojourn and 7-day stay at Gundicha Temple, as the chariots rolled down the Grand Road around 1 pm, 3 hours ahead of scheduled.

After reaching the 12th-century shrine, the three deities will spend the night on the chariots where all the rituals will be performed. They will appear in ‘Sunabesha’ (gold attire) the following day. After the ‘Aadhar Pana’ (a special drink) ritual on June 30, they will enter Jagannath Temple in ‘Niladri Bije’, which will mark the end of Rath Yatra, on July 1.
