Bhubaneswar: Six persons were injured in an accident, involving multiple vehicles, in Madanpur area under Infovalley police limits, on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar, on Sunday morning.
According to sources, the mishap took place when a scooty rider lost balance and veer
ed towards a car, triggering a chain reaction. The car took a sharp turn to avoid the two-wheeler and collided with another car coming from the opposite direction. The two cars overturned and skidded off the road into a nearby field under the impact of the collision. The injured were rescued and rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
On being informed, police reached the spot and began an investigation to ascertain the sequence of events leading to the accident. The damaged vehicles have been removed from the field.
Meanwhile, residents have called for widening the road, arguing that the narrow stretch amid rising traffic volumes contributes to such collisions.
