Keonjhar: Six persons were injured in a multiple-vehicle crash near Judia Ghati in Odisha’s Keonjhar district on Monday.
According to sources, a speeding truck loaded with iron ore, en route to Kolkata from Sambalpur, caught fire after hitting three trucks parked along the road and as many motorcycles. The bikes were completely damaged in the crash.
On being informed, fire department personnel soon reached the spot and doused the flames. The injured were also rescued by the fire fighters and police and admitted to district headquarters hospital here. The condition of three among them is stated to be critical.
Police have also detained driver of truck, which caused the accident, and seized the vehicle. It is being suspected that accident took place due to brake failure.
