Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 toll in Odisha touched 8,274 on Thursday with six more deaths being confirmed in the last 24 hours.
According to Health department sources, three deaths have been reported from Khurda (2 from Bhubaneswar), and one each from Bhadrak, Cuttack, and Jajpur districts.
Here are the details of the deceased in different districts after an audit:
1.A 50 years old female of Bhadrak district.
2.A 49 years old male of Bhubaneswar.
3.A 80 years old female of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus & Hypertension.
4.A 58 years old male of Cuttack district who was also suffering from Ischemic Cerebro Vascular Accident, Diabetes Mellitus & Hypertension.
5.A 61 years old female of Jajpur district who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus, Akute Kidney Infection & Urinary Tract Infection.
6.A 58 years old female of Khurda district who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus & Hypertension.
Notably, Odisha has reported 6,389 COVID deaths during the second wave against 1,876 the previous year.
There were 346 casualties due to the disease in the state in September. Similarly, 2,056 fatalities were registered in August, while July saw 1,903 deaths, June 1,272 and May 737, said sources in the Health Department.
The second wave of the pandemic has claimed the lives of 40 children and adolescents in Odisha. As many as 13 of these deaths were reported between August 10 and 31.
