6 Poachers Arrested In Odisha’s Similipal Following AI Alert

Baripada: Six persons were arrested by Odisha’s Forest Department for illegally entering the Similipal Tiger Reserve (STR) in Mayurbhanj district and hunting a mouse deer.

As per information, the six were caught with the help of cameras with Artificial Intelligence (AI). Some crude and handmade weapons have been seized from them.

The accused persons have been identified as Budhia Hembram of Bhupad village; Ratha Singh & Baula Singh from Subarnamanjari village; and Mithun Hembram, Laxman Soren, & Pradhan Soren from Nuagaon village of Mayurbhanj district.

The arrested individuals have been forwarded to the court for judicial custody.

During the investigation, the authorities seized three crude handmade guns and a snare from the accused.
