Berhampur: Ganjam district administration on Sunday sealed six shops at different places of the city for violation of of COVID-19 guidelines.
According to official sources, the shops selling garments, fancy items and ornaments and a hotel in Bada Bazar, Sana Bazar, Aska Road, Old Berhampur and Annapurna Market in the city were closed down and sealed. Penalty amounting to Rs 43,600 was collected from the shop owners.
Meanwhile, Berhampur police also imposed a fine of Rs 3000 on individuals for violating social distancing, Rs 5600 for not wearing masks and Rs 76,000 from vehicle owners for violating COVID-19 regulations.
