Boudh: Six tourists from Chhattisgarh sustained grievous injuries after the car they were travelling in overturned at a village in Boudh district of Odisha on Sunday.
The victims were on their way to Puri for offering prayers at Shree Jagannath Temple when the mishap took place at Raithani village near Boudh town, sources said.
The vehicle skidded off the road and overturned when the driver was trying to negotiate a sharp turn on National Highway No. 57. The vehicle was badly damaged, while its occupants sustained serious injuries.
All the injured were rescued by locals and rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) at Boudh in ambulance for treatment. The condition of some of the injured persons was stated to be critical.
Police personnel from Boudh rushed to the spot and launched an investigation in to the incident.
