Jajpur: A minor boy was allegedly stabbed to death by unidentified assailants at Baragadia under Kalinga Nagar police limits in Jajpur district on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Suraj Choudhury (6), a native of Bihar.
The boy’s father Soham Choudhury found him in a pit near Baragadia village. He was immediately admitted to Danagadi health centre, where doctors referred him to SCB Medical College and Hospital after his health condition deteriorated. He, however, succumbed to his injuries on the way to the hospital.
“The boyused to sell gup-chup near Baragadia on Jajpur road. He was slashed across the throat. He suffered multiple injuries. The body has been sent for postmortem and a minor boy is being questioned in connection with the case. It is suspected that he was stabbed with a knife during a brawl with another boy,” a police officer said.
