Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday taking a selfie at state secretariat with Mamata, of Kendrapara, who saved her sister from crocodile attack
Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday felicitated Mamata of Bankual village in Kendrapada district for her act of bravery. The six-year-old had displayed exceptional courage and presence of mind while saving her sister Asanti from the jaws of a crocodile on April 4.
The chief minister had invited both the sisters to the secretariat and took selfie with them. He also inquired about the incident and praised them for being alert and brave during the crocodile attack. Both the girls are studying in Class II.
The chief minister directed the district collector to ensure that the sisters continue with their studies. He gifted them two bicycles.
