Bhadrak: Even as people of Bhadrak were in anxiety and apprehension about cyclone Amphan, pregnant women gave birth to 60 babies in different hospitals of the district in the last two days.
According to sources, 218 expectant mothers were admitted in Primary Health Centres (PHCs) and District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) on Tuesday and Wednesday for institutional delivery. Of them, one woman gave birth to twins. While 43 babies were born on Tuesday, the rest took birth on Wednesday.
Bhadrak Collector Gyana Das shared the picture of the mother and her newborn twins on his official Twitter account. The services of Angawadi workers, ASHA workers and other health workers during the natural calamity were appreciated.
