60 Cattle Rescued From Truck In Khurda; Driver Detained

Khurda: As many as 60 cattle were rescued by police from a truck near
Golipada toll gate in Khurda late on Sunday night.

The driver of the truck was detained by police for interrogation.

According to police sources, a patrolling team of Jankia police
intercepted the vehicle laden with cattle on the National Highway when
near Golipada toll gate. The truck driver tried to drive away but the
police team managed to stop the vehicle and detained him.

It is suspected that the animals were being trafficked to other parts
of the state. However, the investigation into the matter is on. The police
are trying to trace other persons involved in the trafficking racket,
the sources said.
