60 Cattle Rescued, Truck Seized In Odisha Capital

Bhubaneswar: Over 60 cattle were rescued after a truck illegally transporting the animals was seized on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar on Monday morning, reports said.

A group of locals spotted and intercepted the cattle-laden vehicle near Kesura Chhak and informed the police. The truck was reportedly proceeding towards West Bengal when it was spotted, they said.

After being informed, a team of police personnel reached the site and seized the vehicle. Over 60 cattle were rescued from the huge vehicle.

According to some locals, the vehicle hit a youth and tried to speed away. Some local youths chased the vehicle and intercepted it.

Sources said another vehicle, which was escorting the cattle-laden container, sped away after locals gathered at the site.

The truck was seized and further investigation is in progress.
