Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 toll in Odisha climbed to 5,634 on Tuesday with the report of 60 new deaths.
However, the Health and Family Welfare Department has said the list gives details of past deaths for which an audit process has been done and the cause of fatality was confirmed as COVID-19.
Among the fresh deaths reported from 15 districts, Sundargarh topped the list with 14 casualties. It followed by 8 in Khurda, 6 each in Angul and Cuttack, 5 each in Keonjhar and Puri, 4 each in Boudh and Sambalpur, 2 in Bhadrak and one each in Jajpur, Jharsuguda, Kandhamal, Koraput, Nabarangpur and Nayagarh districts.
As for total deaths, Khurda district has the highest of 1,107 fatalities. Iy is followed by Sundargarh (493), Ganjam (428), Puri (339), Cuttack (321), Bargarh (273), Angul (235), Mayurbhanj (202), Kalahandi (194), Balasore (180), Sambalpur (165), Rayagada (159), Nayagarh (142), Jharsuguda (141), Kendrapada (126), Keonjhar (125), Dhenkanal (108) and Boudh (103).
