Bhubaneswar: A 60-year-old man of Surya Nagar in Bhubaneswar has tested positive for COVID-19, the Health and Family Welfare Department tweeted on Wednesday.
He was admitted to AIIMS-Bhubaneswar with multiple co-morbid conditions, it added.
This is the fifth confirmed coronavirus case in Odisha.
Earlier in the evening, the department had tweeted that the second COVID-19 patient had recovered and was to be discharged from AIIMS-Bhubaneswar, where he was undergoing treatment after having tested positive for the infection on March 19.
The first coronavirus case in Odisha was detected on March 15 and the condition of the 30-year-old man admitted to the Capital Hospital here was stated to be stable.
The third case was a 60-year-old banker, who had returned from Delhi, and he tested positive on March 26.
A 29-year-old man, who worked in Dubai, was diagnosed with the infection on March 31. A native of Bhadrak district, he has been admitted to the isolation ward of SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
