Berhampur: Andhra Pradesh police seized silver bricks worth over Rs 20 lakh, which were allegedly being smuggled from Berhampur, near Ichchapuram and arrested three persons late on Wednesday.
The three youths, identified as P Suri Babu, Ijad Govinda and driver B Narasinghamulu of Machilipatnam, were caught at a check post near Purusottampur on Odisha-Andhra border while smuggling around 61 kg silver bricks in a car.
The trio was arrested when they failed to produce valid documents against the consignment of silver bricks found in their possession, police sources said.
The trader in Berhampur, who had supplied them the bricks is yet to be traced, the sources added.
