Balasore: In a shocking incident, a 65-year-old widow was allegedly raped by a youth in Soro municipality area of Balasore district late on Tuesday.
According to sources, the accused broke into the house while she was fast asleep and raped her by brandishing a sharp weapon.
Following the incident, the woman tried to commit suicide. She was rescued by her family members, who later lodged a police complaint.
Police sprung into action and nabbed the accused. The woman was also taken for medical examination. Further investigation is on, the sources added.
