Prof Sudhakar Panda joins as Birla Global University VC

Bhubaneswar: Former chairman of state finance commission Prof Sudhakar Panda has joined as the first vice chancellor of Birla Global University (BGU) here.

In his maiden address to faculties and staffers of the university, Prof Panda said, “Birla Global University is a young university, but it has very strong foundation backed by Birla Group. Thus, it is well positioned to be a global leader in the field of education.” He also stressed the importance of developing critical thinking among students and advised faculty members to be pioneers in teaching and research.

Speaking on the occasion, BGU registrar Dr B K Das said, “The appointment of Prof. Panda as the new vice chancellor would help the university scale greater heights in the field of education.”

BIMTECH director Dr P Nayak said under the able leadership of Prof. Panda, BGU, will be able to create a niche for itself in the field of higher education. All faculties and staff members congratulated Prof. Panda on his
appointment as new VC of the varsity.
