Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 toll in Odisha climbed to 5,377 on Friday with 69 more deaths reported in the last 24 hours.
The Health and Family Welfare (H&FW) Department, however, clarified that the list of deaths does not reflect the fatalities occurring on a particular day. Rather, it gives the details of past deaths for which an audit process has been completed and the cause of death has been identified as COVID-19.
Among the new deaths reported from 13 districts, Khurda topped the chart with 26 fatalities (including 15 from Bhubaneswar). It was followed by 10 in Balasore, 7 in Sambalpur, 6 in Kendrapada, 5 in Baragarh, 4 in Sundargarh, 2 each in Balangir, Jharsuguda, Kandhamal and Rayagada, and one each is in Dhenkanal, Nuapada, and Subarnapur.

3.A 75 years old female of Baragarh District who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus.
4.A 40 years old male of Baragarh District.
5.A 55 years old female of Baragarh District who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus & Hypertension.
6.A 63 years old female of Balangir District who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus & Hypertension.
7.A 52 years old male of Balangir District.
8.A 45 years old female of Balasore District who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus.
9.A 70 years old male of Balasore District who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus & Hypertension.
10.A 68 years old female of Balasore District.
11.A 80 years old female of Balasore District.
12.A 35 years old male of Balasore District who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus.
