Cuttack: Police arrested seven persons for allegedly providing ‘copy material’ to students writing the High School Certificate (HSC) examination at a centre in Maniabandha area of Odisha’s Cuttack district on Saturday.
As per information, the arrested persons were relatives of some students taking the annual matriculation exam. They were reportedly providing answer material during the science exam at the centre. The arrested individuals have been forwarded to court, police said.
Sources said that the arrests were made after reports of widespread cheating activities at the examination centre in previous papers were aired on several news channels.
In order to prevent cheating during the exams being conducted by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), the police and the education department officials of Baramba swung into action and caught the accused persons.
