Jeypore: Seven people, including two women, have been arrested by the police in connection with the murder of a temple priest in Odisha’s Koraput district three days ago.
According to sources, Ramesh Chandra Tripathy, a priest of Budhi Thakurani temple in Koraput, was killed by the accused persons with a motive to loot his valuables.
The priest was found dead in his house located near the temple on November 8. His body was found lying on the floor in a naked state with his limbs tied. His belongings were found scattered around the house, sources said.
On being informed by the locals, Koraput Town police recovered the body and sent it for postmortem. A scientific team was called in to assist the police in the probe.
