Jharsuguda: Seven labourers were injured, two of them seriously, following a mishap in the blast furnace unit of a sponge and rolling plant in Jharsuguda district on Thursday.
The mishap occurred at the Thakur Prasad Sao & Sons Ltd (TPSL) plant in Lahanda block.
According to reports, some labourers were working near the blast furnace when it suddenly went off. As a result, molten iron fell on seven workers.
The injured workers were rushed to the district headquarters hospital where the condition of two is stated to be critical.
Jharsuguda CDMO said the injured workers will be shifted to Cuttack as there is no burn unit at the district headquarters hospital.
